Lead Hazard Reduction Capacity Building Grant Program
What is it?
The City of Atlanta’s Department of Grants and Community Development (DGCD) is proud to introduce the Lead Hazard Reduction Capacity Building Program. This initiative is funded by the U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development (HUD) and aims to protect our community by reducing lead-related hazards in homes across Atlanta, particularly in the Westside Promise Zone (WPZ).
Who is it for?
Families with children under six or expecting mothers.
Residents in the WPZ neighborhoods, including Ashview Heights, Castleberry Hill, English Avenue, Vine City, and Atlanta University Center.
Low-income households living in privately-owned rentals or owner-occupied homes built before 1978.
How do I get involved?
Residents: Schedule a free lead inspection or join an educational workshop once available.
Contractors: Enroll in lead-safe training programs to gain certification once available.
Community Partners: Collaborate with us to spread awareness and engage residents.
