Priscilla’s story: restoring a family home from a devastating sewage breach
For two years, Priscilla and her family lived with the aftermath of a devastating sewer spill that severely damaged their home. During this challenging time, their living conditions were far from favorable, and the hope for a resolution seemed dim.
Recognizing the dire situation, Nehemiah Project CDC intervened to provide much-needed assistance. Our team not only restored Priscilla’s home to its former condition but also ensured that she, her son, and her grandchildren had temporary housing during the renovation process. This intervention allowed the family to live comfortably and safely while we addressed the significant repairs.
The restoration was made possible through the support of the City of Atlanta Department of Watershed Management Care and Conserve Plumbing Repair Program. Their commitment was instrumental in turning around the misfortune Priscilla’s family faced, transforming their home back into a safe and welcoming environment.
Today, Priscilla’s home stands fully restored, symbolizing resilience and the power of community support. This outcome highlights the impact of collective efforts and the difference they can make in the lives of those we serve.
