Eliminating $3,000 in plumbing repairs: Debbie’s journey to restoration

Meet Debbie, a long-time homeowner who faced an uphill battle with severe plumbing issues. For over a year, she endured a $6,000 water bill and cold water due to a malfunctioning hot water heater. Despite her best efforts—calling and meeting with plumbers 5 or 6 times and seeking assistance through her homeowners' insurance—Debbie was tasked with an overwhelming $3,000 out-of-pocket expense.

Living in her home for 13 years, Debbie dreams of aging in place and maintaining her independence.

Nehemiah Project Community Development Corporation stepped in after other organizations she reached out to didn’t have the funding to assist. With the help of the Fulton County Community Service Program, we were able to replace Debbie’s hot water heater and address her ongoing plumbing issues, bringing her peace of mind and restoring confidence in her home.

We are honored to help residents like Debbie stay safe, comfortable, and independent in their homes.
